Hindu YUVA releases June 2008 edition of Tattva

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

Namaste,

As always, with each new month comes a new edition of Tattva. An important festival falls in this month-Hindu Sanghatan Diwas, or Hindu Unity Day. This day marks the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji, the 17th century Hindu king who defeated the invading Moghul rulers and established an ideal kingdom. This day reminds us that unity is strength.

As many will remember, last September to mark the first anniversary of Tattva, we released a special print edition of the magazine. This September, we will be printing another edition to mark the second anniversary. If you are interested in contributing to the second anniversary issue, please e-mail tattva-editor@hinduyuva.org. Ways you can help: write an article, help edit articles, suggest topics for articles, help with the formatting of the magazine, and encourage your friends to contribute to contribute to Tattva.

Hindu YUVA releases April 2008 edition of Tattva

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

Namaste,

As always, with each new month comes a new edition of Tattva. This edition has many interesting articles and editorials. This year, many important festivals fall in April, among which are Ram Navami , Hanuman Jayanti, and Yugadi. Yugadi, which is celebrated as Hindu New Year, recalls the inspiring occasion when the invading Sakas from Central Asia were vanquished by the great emperors Shalivahana and Vikramaditya in the 1st Century A.D. As a happy and meaningful coincidence, the great founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, was also born on this very day of Yugadi in 1889. On this festive occasion let us take inspiration from these great souls. Jai Shri Ram!

Hindu YUVA releases March 2008 edition of Tattva

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

Namaste,

Best wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasions of Maha Shivaratri and Holi. In this month’s edition of Tattva, we have a variety of interesting articles. There is an interview with a Yuva for Sewa volunteer, who spent last summer volunteering in India. We also have an editorial reflecting on the recent Hindu-Christian clash in Orissa and conversion in India, an important topic that we must all be aware of. With so much going on in today’s world, it is now more important than ever for youth to reflect on current events and challenges faced by society. As you read through this month’s edition of Tattva, please consider writing an article and sharing your own thoughts and opinions with other readers. We are eagerly looking forward to your contributions.

Yuva for Sewa provides a unique opportunity for youth to volunteer their time and talent for the less fortunate in our society. We encourage all Tattva readers to consider giving some time as a Yuva for Sewa volunteer. Please also pass the information about Yuva for Sewa to anyone who may be interested. Vishwa Dharma Ki Jai!

Hindu YUVA releases January 2008 edition of Tattva

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Namaste,

Last month, Tattva launched a new website (www.hinduyuva.org/tattva-blog). The site has received a great response so far. We encourage all the readers to take advantage of the “Comments” feature under each article, and leave your reactions and thoughts regarding the article.

In this issue, on the occasion of Vivekananda Jayanti, we have an article on Swami Vivekananda’s inspiration and relevance for today’s youth. Starting on January 12th, Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh will be carrying out a “Surya Namaskar Yagna” program (offering of one million Sun Salutations), to create awareness about Yoga and its benefits. We encourage everyone to participate. This is a great opportunity to learn, practice, and teach others about Surya Namaskar. Surya Namaskar is easy, can be done anywhere, and helps tremendously in achieving a healthy body, mind and spirit. For the full details, please read the article on the Surya Namaskar Yagna below.

As always, we look forward to your feedback and contributions. Jai Shri Ram!
