Name the great personality
1.) The wise and learned daughter of Rishi Vachaknu; she was known as Brahmavadini because of her knowledge of Brahma-vidya. She participated in an intellectual debate with the knower of Brahma, Yajnavalkya.
2.) The founder of the Brahmo Samaj, one of the first Indian socio-religious reform movements. He made significant contributions in the fields of politics, public administration, and education. He is best known for his efforts to abolish the social evil of sati.
3.) This brave woman belonged to the Kakatiya Dynasty of Andhra Pradesh. She took over the ruling of the kingdom after her father’s death. When the feudal lords revolted and neighboring rulers tried to usurp her territory, she defeated them through her expertise in combating. She ruled over the Kakatiya kingdom very effectively for many decades.
4.) A tenth century saint and great devotee of Krishna. As a child, she vowed to marry no one other than Krishna. She lived a life of innocence, purity, and total dedication to her God, and was finally united with Him.
5.) Often called the “Father of Yoga,” this physician/sage taught Ashtanga Yoga. He compiled The Yoga Sutra, a guide for living a moral life and incorporating the science of yoga into daily life.
6.) An Indian king and painter who achieved recognition for his depiction of scenes from the epics of the Mahabharata and Ramayana. His exposure in the west came when he won the first prize in Vienna Art Exhibition in 1873. He is considered one of the greatest painters of Indian art.
