This year three important Hindu festivals will be celebrated in the month of March - Holi on the 3rd, Yugadi on the 19th and Sri Ram Navami on the 26th. While we all know about Holi and Sri Ram Navami, Yugadi carries a special significance of its own. It is the Hindu new year day. The day recalls the inspiring occasion when the invading Sakas from Central Asia were vanquished by the great emperors Shalivahana and Vikramaditya in the 1st Century A.D. As a happy and meaningful coincidence, the great founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, was also born on this very day of Yugadi in 1889. On this festive occasion let us take inspiration from these great souls.
