Shri Vimal Patel

Dr. Patel has been a researcher and professor in the Pathology Department of the School of Medicine at the IUPUI for over thirty years. A graduate of the Institute of Agriculture, Anand, India, University of California, Davis (MS & PhD) and the Hindi University, Allahabad, India (Ayurveda Ratna equivalent to PhD), Dr. Patel has served as a fellow in Neuropathology at Indiana University, was the Director of the Neurochemistry lab at the IU School of Medicine and served on National Institute of Health’s (NIH) Special Review Panel for Evaluation of National Centers for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) from 2000-2004; this panel was responsible for awarding $130 million for development of 12 CAM centers in US. He is currently the Director of the Indiana Institute for Complementary Medicine a non-profit organization involved in the creating integrative health care system.

Dr. Patel as a research scientist and educator at Indiana University School of Medicine has published over 50 scientific articles and/or abstracts and hundreds of invited talks in the field of genetic diseases and complementary alternative medicine.

Dr. Patel is President and CEO of Health Synergy Inc. the Company he founded to provide integrative treatment strategies for chronic diseases. He is working with team of physicians (Dr. Peter Furno, Director Pain & Physical Medicine, Dr. Roger Spahr, Director Functional Medicine, Dr. Debbie Miller, Director Bariatric Medicine, Dr. William Sobat, Cancer Care and Dr. Barbara Davis, Women’s Health) in the development of business of integrative health care, the forefront of rapidly evolving Heath Care Model.
