Dr. Shrinivas Tilak

Dr Shrinivas Tilak is an independent research scholar based in Montreal, Canada. He was born in India in 1939 and immigrated to Canada in 1965 where he did postgraduate studies in religion. Dr Tilak holds Ph D in History of Religions from McGill University, Montreal, Canada and has taught at several universities in Canada.

He is author of (1) The Myth of Sarvodaya: A Study in Vinoba's Concept (New Delhi:Breakthrough Communications, 1985); (2) Religion and Aging in the Indian Tradition (Albany, N.Y.: State University of New York Press, 1989); (3) Understanding Karma (Nagpur, India: International Centre for Cultural Studies, 2006); (4) Vanaprasthasrama : Meaning of old age and aging in the traditions of India (with Dr Yashwant Pathak)Lulu 2005) and (5) Remaking Hindurashtra: A Critical Assessment of the Collected Works of M.S. Golwalkar. In addition, Dr Tilak has contributed chapters to books on Indology edited by reputed scholars. His interests include Indology, Cultural Gerontology, and Hermeneutics.
