Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville conducted the Speaker on Campus seminar on 'Science of Ayurveda' Dr.Vimal Patel on September 10th 2007.

Dr. Patel talked about the various principles of Ayurveda and its impact on the world of modern medicine. We had over 30 attendees and even with such a large attendance he was able to answer the questions that people had about this topic and made sure that all their doubts were clarified. In addition to the seminar, Dr. Patel had a one on one chat session with some members of the ISA committee which we found very warm and welcoming. We would like to thank Dr. Patel for his time and hope to see him at our university for many more seminars to come.

Some members of the audience were not of Indian origin. They were very deeply interested and intrigued by the seminar. In fact, one of the audience members was so impressed she informed us that she was going to encourage students in her department to attend seminars such as this one which would be helpful in the aspects of daily life.

We were glad this seminar was able to have a positive impact on the audience. Hopefully in the future we can have more events like this which can bring people from our part of the world closer together as well as educating people from this side of the world about our culture and traditions. We will gladly support the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh with any other seminars or events they would like to organize at SIUE and we wish them all the very best in their future projects.
